STALLION OF A DREAM: CALIFORNIA & THE CAMARILLO WHITE HORSE

laurel lead.png

You may have witnessed the beautiful Camarillo White Horse which has been a frequent participant in the Tournament of Roses Parade that takes place every New Year's day in Pasadena, California. The history of this rare and distinguished horse in America, that once faced its own near-extinction, dates back to 1921. In one way, this is the story of Adolfo Camarillo, who purchased a stallion named "Sultan" at the California State Fair with a vision that would become Camarillo’s pride; in another it's a quintessential story of the "California dream," of a man and his family with ranching traditions rooted in Spain and Mexico, whose horse, whose vision, would become his living and lasting legacy.
